![]() The 2003-2007 Ford Super Duty 6.0 L may be the worst diesel truck of all time. From what I understand, the only sure way to identify a bad HPOP is to remove the pump and remove the cover and rotating assembly to inspect it. With HPOP failures (very similar to leaks in the High-Pressure oil system), you will see a lack of power with high IPR numbers and ICP less than desired. The oil has to be high enough to fill the HPOP resevior to run the injectors. Low oil will definitely cuse it to not start. If it is not cranking fast enough it won’t generate a signal for the camshaft position sensor. The most common reasons a Ford F-250 Super Duty won’t start are a dead battery, an alternator problem, or failed starter.Ī common 7.3 PSD problem is the fuel bowl heater shorting out under the fuel filter, which in turn blows the fuse. What would cause a Ford f250 to not start? Oil contamination in the wiring usually is the cause. Injector Control Pressure Sensor: When an ICP is failing, the engine runs extremely rough as load is imposed (under throttle), and the condition can eventually contribute to a 7.3L’s inability to start. Remove and clean the fuel filter, or replace it altogether. The filter may be dirty, which clogs the vents and won’t allow fuel to travel to the engine from the fuel tank. If your diesel tractor won’t start, the first place to look is the fuel filter. ![]()
